Well, this was a tile I made back in the end of April, I believe. Sadly, it never got fired, or even clear glazed, and I won't get to see it installed at the fountain. And I really stressed over making this. The lettering? Had to go over it twice. The tile is 4x4in. Try to imagine how tiny that writing had to be.
I was quite literally sweating.
Anyways, I made a tile dedicated to the wonderful There She Is!! series by SamBakZa. It can found on New Grounds for those of you who haven't seen it. And if you haven't, then you haven't lived. Despite the cute style, it is extremely emotionally powerful. I cried. A lot. I have never seen a more beautiful animation, and I have Sev to thanks for showing me that.
anyways...
The original drawings and lettering were done in pencil, then outlined with an underglaze. This is the work unfired, and the colors will most likely warp and turn out strangely when it is fired, but I tried.
The words are the translated version of the song "Imagine", from the Final Step which goes by the same name (If you want the song or the lyrics, I can e-mail them to you; just drop me a note!). I thought about using the original Korean, but I wanted to do this so that everyone who sees it can understand. Even if they've never seen There She Is!!, the words are pretty impacting. I was very proud of myself, despite some mess-ups (the smudge on Nabi's face on the bottom).
Also, what appears to be light green on their sleeves is actually white. It will fire white, anyways.
For those of you who can't read my horrid handwriting:
If I could ever go there Only with you The one and only love will take me there Before my remaining life's bell rings If I could ever go there
Anyways, all my hard work only to never see it clear-glazed, fired and installed at the fountain It really does disappoint me, but at least I know I did it, and it's my mark on the school when it does get put up.
And, if anyone can see it, in the bottom right corner there is a tiny, tiny pawprint. Lol, my signature. I almost didn't put it on there for fear it would ruin the piece, but there it is.
Anyways, enjoy.
And for those of you who have seen the animation, this is from the airport scene in the Final Step "Imagine". I cried so hard, but they were happy tears.

I know, it's really too bead, especially since I just graduated yesterday. I'll have to try to go back and visit next year to see it put up.
And thank you

I knew you would like it xD If I could, I'd make you one and ship it over. And I feel special that I am CapsRape-worthy. That good, huh?

Beautiful series. Beautiful claywork/painting. I think you did an awesome job capturing one of the most memorable scenes in the series!
Too bad it didn't become a permanent piece of your school. (if it did, I would have suggested a nod to SamBakZa, since I'm not sure how many people know the series; it's only fair since it's their work) Ah, well. At least it's a final momento from your school!
And like you said, if anybody has not seen "There She Is!!", you haven't lived. (If the series doesn't invoke some kind of emotion, then I don't know if you're human or not...) Do yourselves a favor, and take a half hour off of your day. You won't regret it!
Thank you. It took me roughly 2 1/2 hours to do, and it was pretty stressful to work on. But I love the way it came out. There She Is!! is just amazing enough that it deserves a tile.
It's sad that I won't be there to see it being installed, but I can go back and visit. Hopefully the glaze colors won't warp too much when it gets fired. That would just depress me. Either way, it's immortalized in this moment by the camera.

It looks like you gave it a lot of love. I suggest taking more pics of it, just in case...! (just amazing enough? I think the series deserves more, but what you did is pretty awesome, nevertheless!)
Ah, so it is going to be installed after all? I must've read the description wrong. In that case, is it too late to add "SamBakZa" somewhere on it? (I strongly believe in giving credit when credit's due) Sorry if I'm sounding annoying at this...
